According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 80% of cut flowers in the U.S. are imported. The carbon footprint for these imported blooms is substantial, not to mention the chemicals involved in growing quickly and preserving these flowers for their long journey. Pesticides are now being found in our rivers and lakes across the globe, leading to a variety of illnesses in both humans and wildlife, and the cut flower industry is a major contributor. THIS is why Revel Petals ALWAYS sources our flowers from US farms and greenhouses.
Beyond the flowers, green floral foam is a toxic, hardly bio-degradable, and a terrible alternative to well-practiced floral arranging skills. So Revel Petals doesn’t use it. Ever.
We think our arrangements should be joy-infused and earth-friendly. To that end, Revel Petals maintains our own organic garden to populate your project. Have a particular bloom in mind? If you give us enough lead time, we might just plant it especially for you! While this may create extra work on our part, Revel Petals believes our earth is too important to cut corners and buy pesticide ridden, imported blooms. We hope this gives you peace of mind, too!
